Sara Rose is the product support and customer service lead at Generac. She leads her team in supporting customers in various ways including accessing resources we offer, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and training them on how to most effectively use our platform.
Q) What would you say you do on a regular day at Generac?
A) On a day-to-day basis, I support all of our customers and internal users with their use of our product. I also have also developed a training program for our customers to access.
Q) What is the most rewarding part of your work here?
A) I really enjoy helping our customers, especially if they’re not quite accessing what they are looking for to be successful with our product. Being able to hop on a phone call with a customer, talk through their issues, and show them the features on our platform that will achieve what they need is really rewarding. Also, just being able to see that the solution is really working for them and their business.
Q) Three words you would use to describe working at Generac?
A) Energetic, fun, and hilarious.
Q) What is your professional background?
A) I actually have a BFA in photography and also have a teaching certification to teach K12 art. There is a lot of education in my background and I actually used to be a camp counselor way back in the day. I’ve always just enjoyed helping people and teaching them skills I have already learned and want to pass onto them.

Q) What are two things people wouldn’t expect about you?
A) I took a letterpress class last spring and as a result, I learned how to set, type, and print onto an 18th century press. The second thing is that I really like is 18th century handmade photographic processes where you mix the chemicals and then hand coat the paper in a dark room. That’s something I don’t think many expect because when they think of photography, they think of digital photos.
Q) Where is your favorite place you have traveled?
A) Alaska, hands down. I went there for my honeymoon after I got married and it was the most incredible visual landscape I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
We got to see so much wildlife, including a baby black bear! One of my favorite experiences was when we did a bike and brewery tour through Juneau, AK. We got to see the Mendenhall Glacier, and while we were on our way there we were asked to get off our bikes and walked because of the family of bears that was just a few feet away on the trail. Apparently, bikers are called meals on wheels in Alaska.
Q) What is your guilty pleasure food?
A) Pizza, because it’s the most versatile. You can add so many different things to it, like adding vegetables to make it “healthy”. I also really like pineapple on pizza which I know is part of a heated debate, but is still very delicious.
Q) Are you a morning person or a night person?
A) Both. I love morning and nights. The middle the day is the roughest because that’s when I am really wanting a nap. Once we get to 6pm, I start perking back up and am ready to do the next thing.
